[TV] Fabio Ide admits being mesmerized by Ken Chan's transgender transformation #JHedzWorlD

Fabio Ide on Destiny Rose lead star Ken Chan: “Noong makita ko si Ken sa set, I didn’t recognize him. I said, ‘Ang ganda mo naman!’ And then he started to get into character na. Para talaga siyang babae. Para siyang yung mga babae that I see in Thailand.”

“I'm really proud to be a part of the show.

“The show educates a lot of televiewers to have more compassion, most especially to transwomen like Destiny Rose.

“There should always be love and respect for one another—men, women and the LGBT community.

“Kailangan good vibes lang tayo sa lahat, di ba?” pahayag pa ni Fabio nang makapanayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa set ng Destiny Rose last November 25 sa Erehwon Center for the Arts sa Matandang Balara, Quezon City.

GETTING BETTER AT SPEAKING TAGALOG. Malaki na raw ang naging improvement ni Fabio sa kanyang acting dahil mas maayos na raw siyang magsalita ng Tagalog ngayon, kesa noong nagsisimula pa lang siya.

“When I started on television, puro comedy ang ginagawa ko.

“My very first TV show with GMA-7 was Comedy Bar with Eugene Domingo and Allan K.

“I was bulol-bulol pa that time. Kasi comedy, e. They made fun of how I spoke Tagalog.

“Now, I can say that my Tagalog is more polished.

“Though I still have a little accent, it’s forgivable naman kasi foreigner ang role ko sa Destiny Rose.

“My Tagalog improved a lot because of the acting workshops I have been attending.

“I also like that the people I work with converse with me in Tagalog para mas masanay ako,” diin pa ni Fabio.

MESMERIZED BY KEN’S TRANSFORMATION. Noong first time daw niyang makita si Ken Chan na nag-transform bilang isang babae sa teleserye, hindi raw niya ito nakilala.

Kuwento niya, “Noong makita ko si Ken sa set, I didn’t recognize him.

“I said, ‘Ang ganda mo naman!

“And then he started to get into character na. Para talaga siyang babae.

“Para siyang yung mga babae that I see in Thailand.

“Ken’s facial features kasi ay parang sa babae talaga. So it’s easy to transform him to his character as Destiny Rose.

“Ang galing ng glam team ng show. They really worked hard to turn Ken into that beautiful woman.”

COMFORTABLE WITH GAYS. Bilang isang modelo, sanay si Fabio na ma-expose sa mga bading. Kaya walang problema sa kanya na maging close siya sa mga gays.

“Sa totoo lang, I like the company of gay people.

“Nakakatawa sila and they have no pretentions. You can see who they really are and I really appreciate that.

“When I started a career in this country as a model, I worked with many talented gay people.

“Like my manager [Jonas Gaffud], designers, stylists, producers, directors, actors and the fans who call me Gabriele because of Destiny Rose.

“Mas naging close ako sa mga gays dito sa Philippines kesa when I was in Brazil.

“They treat gays differently in my home country.

“Unlike here, gays can express themselves freely. In Brazil, it’s an issue when you are gay and when you are with gay people.

“That’s why I salute GMA-7 for coming up with a show like Destiny Rose.

“It’s not just a teleserye na puro iyakan at drama.

“May tinuturo pa siyang maganda sa maraming tao—respect each and every one, even if they are gay or a transwoman,” pagmamalaki niya.
