Still looking for its first franchise title, Racal Motors shored up its frontline by picking Jason Perkins as the top pick in the 2015 PBA D-League Rookie Draft Tuesday at PBA Cafe in Metrowalk, Pasig City.
The 6-foot-3 forward from La Salle stamped his class in the collegiate ranks as one of the hardworking bruisers up front, enough to impress coach Caloy Garcia and the Alibaba to nab him first out of the 215 entrants.
Another Green Archer was picked next with Julian Sargent going to AMA University as the second overall pick.
Perkins joins Gilas cadet Jiovani Jalalon as the cornerstones for Racal Motors in the 2016 Aspirants Cup, set to start in January next year.
The Alibaba will also have Rudy Lingganay in its roster along with Paolo Pontejos, Roider Cabrera, Dexter Maiquez and standouts from Caida Tiles and Kama Motors in the PCBL.
Von Pessumal, Ateneo’s sharpshooting swingman, was picked third by Tanduay Light.
