I got a notice in the mail yesterday from the storage place in Stockton, about overdue rent for January. They keep seeming optimistic about setting up so-called “EZPay” for me, but so far I haven’t seen any evidence of it.
Emma’s litterbox has mites again. Maybe this time I will try mixing in a healthy dose of diatomaceous earth and boric acid with the litter. I wish it was in a better ventilated space.
It always takes a couple of months to catch up, financially, after a cross-country move. The place in Lincoln hasn’t returned my deposit.
I am trying to work on a cricket manuscript. It’s hard – one of those cases where I need to set up the argument well, for an experiment that shares methodological overlap with ~5 other papers by other people, but that has distinct results that I have only partly wrapped my mind around so far.
I can’t seem to pull the right lever or push the right button to get added to departmental communications. This university has followed through on that whole “consolidate the administrative functions!” notion, which seems to have led to high turnover, which makes it really difficult to figure out the correct person to contact for certain functions.

On the other hand, I got in and out of the DMV in under an hour this morning. California makes incoming people retake the written driver’s exam. I appreciated that there was a question about bicyclists on there.
