J.K. Rowling just revealed 4 new wizarding schools around the world
The wizarding world of Harry Potter just got a little bit bigger.
Speaking at the Celebration of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort Friday night, Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch revealed to thousands of excited fans the names and locations of four new wizarding schools around the world.
Many Potterheads had already deduced that the American school of witchcraft and wizardry featured in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film would be called Ilvermorny.
Three additional schools were also revealed to exist in Brazil—Castelobruxo, where students are skilled at Herbology and Magizoology—as well as Mahoutokoro in Japan and Uagadou in Africa.
After the big announcement in Orlando, the Pottermore website was updated to include J.K. Rowling’s detailed descriptions of Castelobruxo, Mahoutokoro, and Uagadou, and the Pottermore Twitter account tweeted out sketches of each school.

With these four new wizarding schools and all of the books, movies and theme parks that will be sure to follow, looks like we’ll have plenty of new excuses to never outgrow the magic of Harry Potter.
